An unforgettable time in Krong Suong

After an approximately five hour road trip from Siem Reap to Krong Suong in Tboung Khmum province in Cambodia, we finally arrived with anticipation of meeting our friend brother Punleu . Our purpose for this trip was to offer some leadership training to leaders of the soccer ministry that brother Punleu is part of. The senior leader of the ministry brother Joseph and his wife facilitated this meet up by kindly hosting us and offering us a delicious meal… My family was truly overwhelmed with the amazing hospitality that we experienced.
After the meal, I began sharing more about our football ministry experience, our commitment and dedication to reaching out to the global football community with the gospel of Jesus Christ and how they can utilize their unique experiences and resources to reach out to their community. It was clear to me that these leaders are ready to transform lives in their community. The eagerness, passion and desire could be seen in their eyes.
After the leadership meeting, I was invited to lead the training session for their team, an opportunity i couldn’t turn down. This is my passion, I enjoy moments like these, because I get to meet so many wonderful people, helping them to improve on their soccer skills and technique.
I was moved to see so many young people both boys and girls of ages between 13 and 18 years old excited to be part of this team. Even though I can’t share all the details of this training session, I can only say we had a great time, the weather was amazing, the field in great condition, all the players were very teachable and with a great attitude, even my son joined in to play with them and I was glad to see him have such a great time. I had a chance to talk to all the players, sharing the good news to them since many of them are not believers yet. But I believe what the head coach with the help of his assistants are doing is not in vain, their hard work will soon bear great fruits as the Lord continues to guide them. This is a place I would like to visit again and I recommend it to you too. Krong Suong is about 2hr and 30 minutes to PhnomPenh the capital city of Cambodia.
Even though brother Joseph, his wife and some of the leadership team have relocated to another location, the football team is still located in Krong Suong.
I believe the harvest in Cambodia is plentiful, but there’s a need for more laborers… So my prayer as Jesus prayed is that the Lord would send more laborers into Krong Suong and throughout Cambodia and the world.
