My recent trip to Cambodia through BIC was a short but deeply impactful journey that left an indelible mark on my heart.
We went to some villages, where even the most basic necessities are scarce; however, I was met with the warmest smiles and the most genuine hearts—especially from the children.
These kids, many of whom lacked adequate food, clean water, and education, displayed a resilience and joy that was both humbling and inspiring.
We tried to make an impact on the Khmer people. We witnessed firsthand how even the smallest efforts could create a ripple of hope.
But it was during moments spent playing, singing, and simply being present with the children and showing how Jesus’ love looks like that I felt the most profound connection. Their laughter, curiosity, and gratitude reminded me of the power of God’s love and His Grace despite the adversity.
This experience was not just about what we gave but also what we received. As the book of Acts 20:35 says: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
It taught me that we have an incredible opportunity in our hands to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Being the ONLY Bible that “they might read”. Whether through time, resources, or advocacy, we can be a source of love and hope, reminding ourselves that even small acts of compassion can transform people’s lives in Christ’s Name.
